MOOC Camps are free online courses offered by U.S. universities. It is a combination of online course content, thought- provoking case studies, discussions, and activities that would challenge participants to learn from both the online course and in- person meet ups.

Connecting Corners is a digital engagement program that connects American Spaces in the Philippines and other locations, to virtually engage in meaningful and informative dialogues on various relevant and important themes and topics.

American Spaces connect youth in the Philippines with other youth throughout the ASEAN to build and engage in conversations and exchange ideas on topics important to the region. #iASEANYouthConnect

 

Website Option D-2U.S. Embassy Talks (Mission Speaker Program)

Get to know our Mission speakers! It aims at promoting and building understanding on topics that are important to both the U.S. and the Philippines. This series introduces a wide range of conversations to diverse and broad audiences including decision makers, government officials, NGOs, students and youth in the Philippines. It also features speakers from the U.S. embassy and experts from the United States.

19Maker Monday Brainery

In partnership with U.S. and local Makerspace and STEAM education experts, advocates, organizations, and communities, American Center Manila hosts the Maker Monday Brainery program that focuses on teaching 21st Century skills like 3D Rendering and Printing, Rapid Fabrication, Robotics, Coding, Educational Technology applications, and Design Thinking among many others; opening opportunities for learners to apply their skills in identifying real world problems and developing solutions for their communities to create positive change. #MakerMonday

We’re gearing up to gather makers from all over the country! Find the nearest American Space in your area and participate in our Maker@Corner Caravan! Maker@Corner is a whole day program hosted at American Corners for selected students and educators. The program focuses on teaching 21st Century skills like 3D Rendering and Printing, Rapid Fabrication, Robotics, Coding, Educational Technology applications, and Design Thinking among many others. #Maker@CornerPH

 

DIYDIY Makerspace

Innovation through DIYs. The program provides training opportunities for individuals and communities to equip them with different technical skills to help them develop, produce, and implement their own low-cost innovations and projects; and promote locally made products.

8Civil Society Certification Workshop

Be a certified digital change maker! The Smithsonian Civil Society Certification Workshop trains young digizens how to use photography and video as tools for civic engagement. Through American Spaces in the Philippines, this curriculum encourage participants to be empowered and consider myriad ways that individual contributions support broader national efforts to develop civil society.

23Go Green Initiative

The Go Green Initiative is a country-wide challenge to American Spaces in the Philippines to engage community members in environmental awareness, protection, and conservation activities. Through a series social media “challenge” campaigns, and environmental programs and projects, American Spaces adopt green practices and raise the public’s awareness about the economic and long-term benefits of going green based on the pay it forward concept. #GoGreen

Engage in discussions on books that centers on women in STEAM and women’s empowerment. Share thoughts, reflections, and learnings as you meet you met new friends, STEAM experts, learn new skills, and discover your full potential in science and technology.

People to people engagement through film – AFS curates a collection of contemporary American documentary and independent narrative films and enlists American film professionals to lead this film-based exchange. Invention storiesInvention Stories: A Maker’s Journey to Innovation (STEAM Upcycling Program)

Start your journey to innovation! The STEAM Upcycling program is an intensive 9-month maker program that covers essential knowledge and skills training on Design Thinking, Illustration, 2D/3D Design, Robotics, Programming, and Electronics. Learn fabrication techniques and be able to showcase your invention/project of your own design in an innovation fair.
